About this property

Nestled in the ever-popular town of Matlock, with easy access to the scenic Peak District National Park, is this character property, Gate Cottage. Wonderfully presented over three floors and benefitting from sought-after off-road parking, Gate Cottage provides a heart-warming escape for families and couples looking to getaway to Derbyshire for a little while. After a day of exploring the town, put your feet up in the sitting room, with two leather chairs, a sofa, a woodburning stove and a TV for entertainment. Continue into the kitchen, where the designated chef can whip up a tasty treat, making use of the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, whilst the dishwasher helps with the cleaning up. The first bedroom can be found on the lower-ground-floor, set on street level, housing a super-king-size zip/link bed, whilst the second bedroom lies upstairs and offers a standard super-king-size. Completing the interior is the family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower unit, so you can decide how best to prepare for the day. To the outside is a small patio with seating, providing a lovely spot for breakfast before you tackle the town. Book Gate Cottage and enjoy a fun-filled break to Derbyshire. Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1129804, together they sleep eight guests.

Since the late 17th-century construction of the resort, Matlock and Matlock Bath, two prominent Peak District towns, have drawn tourists to the region. The Matlocks, which are located in the lovely, wooded gorge of the River Derwent, provide a variety of stores, bars, and eateries in addition to a number of attractions like Gulliver's Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. From the cable car that transports guests to the Heights of Abraham, a fantastic location for the whole family with its showcaves, nature walk, water gardens, and Owl Maze, tourists may take in magnificent views of the gorge. The High Peak Bike Route begins south of the town, while the National Tramway Museum at Crich is only a short drive away. The market town of Bakewell and Chatsworth House and Park lie to the north and shouldn't be missed!
