About this property

This modest, contemporary built, detached cottage, inspired by George Clarke's Amazing Spaces is named after an ancient family home and sits adjacent to the owner's property. Dwaradin is old English for place or den of the dwarves, this "tiny house" is small, but has everything you need for a self-catered stay exploring the Peak District. This all-ground-floor holiday accommodation has been designed to offer a welcoming and eco-friendly base for a couple or single person from which they can explore the delights of Derbyshire’s countryside and spend quality time eating out at local restaurants and enjoying the beautiful surroundings, stunning views and walks in the area. The inviting cottage, furnished with a wintery colour palette and plush soft furnishings is run entirely on green electricity, as well as being of timber-framed construction. With deep insulation on all sides and triple glazed, Dwaradin only needs a small amount of energy to keep it warm! The king-size eco duvet is made from recycled bottles and the appliances are all A-rated for energy efficiency. The entrance hall brings you into the open-plan living space, with all the essentials required for a self-catered stay, including a compact kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is a two-seater sofa and a foldaway dining table and chairs, which can be used indoors, or outside on the private decking where you can dine alfresco whilst soaking in the countryside scenery. Eat and drink from the locally produced Denby tableware and be inspired by the prints and paintings of local scenes on the walls. Enjoy a meal, glass of wine and plan your itinerary, before relaxing into your evening on the sofa, or lounging on the king-size bed; from either spot you can flick on the Smart TV, use the internet, watch TV or a Netflix programme, before catching up on sleep ahead of your next day of adventure. Concluding the interior is the shower room off the entrance hall, with a corner shower, corner vanity unit and WC, making a perfect little space for a relaxing shower before or after a wonderful day in the Peak District. Note: Property can be booked with Ref. 1069493, together sleeping 8 guests.

Matlock is a popular Peak District town sitting in the scenic wooded gorge of the River Derwent, making a spectacular holiday base at any time of the year. The town plays host to a good range of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, as well as being home to the Peak District Mining Museum. Chatsworth House can be found within easy reach for all matters of attractions, while Bakewell, Chesterfield and Derby are all within driving distance too!

Could not stay in a converted garage with a shower for a week. Hot tub in the owners back garden on a housing estate. Not enough room to swing a cat !!! Sykes you should be referred to the office of fair trading for selling this as a cottage and/or holiday home. I shall be pursuing a refund, do not rent this property

Owner Alison's welcome & communication with us was faultless, the property itself is new and clean a bit on the small side but was the prefect retreat for us after our days sightseeing & walking, would certainly rebook again Thank you
