The pretty barn conversion is located on the owner’s working farm and has been impeccably restored to retain the property’s character and charm. The traditional stone flooring adds a sense of style to the living areas, coupled with carefully chosen soft furnishings and accessories. Underfloor heating is a welcome addition on chilly evenings. The traffic-free Tissington Trail follows a former railway line and is a wonderful place for cycling, as it’s relatively flat. Join it in Tissington and follow it all the way to Ashbourne, a pretty market town with cobbled streets and many independent shops and eateries. Spend a relaxing afternoon pottering around Chatsworth House (14.5 miles), on the banks of the River Derwent. The spectacular house has over 30 rooms to explore, as well as 105 acres of magnificent gardens, sweeping parkland and a vast network of walking trails. There’s also an elegant cafe serving traditional afternoon tea.
