Snaptrip says

Pipistrelle Barn is highly praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and stylish furnishings. Nestled in a tranquil village near a welcoming pub, it's an ideal base for exploring the Peak District. Guests appreciate the well-equipped facilities and the thoughtful touches by the friendly host, although some noted the lack of a local shop and the property's proximity to the owner's residence.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently describe the property as immaculately clean and beautifully maintained, indicating a very high standard of cleanliness.

The property is appreciated for its peaceful location, proximity to local attractions, and a nearby pub, although the absence of a local shop and the need for clearer parking instructions are noted.

Reviews frequently mention the property's comfort, with a comfortable bed and cosy atmosphere, although there was an isolated comment about the property being cold upon arrival.

The barn is well-equipped and tastefully renovated, with high-quality furnishings and appliances. However, some guests were inconvenienced by not having control over the heating.

Many guests felt well-cared for with thoughtful gestures like a birthday balloon and Prosecco. While such gifts are warmly received, they are personal touches from the host and may not be a standard offering for all stays.

About this property

A superb little barn conversion in a really peaceful valley.

It has been beautifully decorated and furnished with lots of attention to detail. Being just down from the centre of Kniveton you’re not far from some fantastic local walks, including up to Madge Hill. A short drive away is Wirksworth, a magnet for lovers of history and heritage. Kniveton is only 3 miles away from the market town of Ashbourne, with more than two-hundred listed buildings, you’ll want to explore its fascinating history and architecture. Browse the country shores, antique shops and art galleries. A little further afield is Buxton and Bakewell - both great places to explore. This is a gem of a property. The decor and quality is fabulous and the location ideal for visiting so many of the beautiful places in Derbyshire. The owner is warm, friendly and welcoming and was quick to sort the problem of the sticking entrance door due to the recent wet weather. We would not hesitate to recommend this property and are already looking to when we can return - hopefully when the weather has been a little drier!

A lovely cosy cottage in a quiet area, good quality furniture and furnishings, every kitchen appliance I needed, lots of Christmas decorations up which was a nice touch as were the bottle of champagne and box of shortbread. The wifi was excellent but note that there's normally no phone signal in the cottage - a short walk up the path from the cottage is apparently OK. The friendly host came and welcomed me and was nearby in case of need. Would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pipistrelle Barn. It’s beautifully refurbished and well equipped. Quietly situated but close to Ashbourne, Carsington and Tissington so perfect for getting outdoors. Five days just wasn’t enough, we need to go back !
