Guests say

Sycamore Cottage in the Peak District is praised for its cosy and comfortable ambiance, beautiful garden, and warm hospitality from the owner, Maveen. The location is ideal for walking and exploring local attractions, with a great pub nearby. While most guests had a pleasant stay, a few noted issues with facilities and maintenance.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be immaculately clean, with only a single mention of mustiness and condensation, which seems to be an isolated issue rather than a common concern.

The cottage is consistently described as well-situated for touring the Peak District, with easy access to walks and historical sites. The presence of a local pub adds to the appeal, although the village's small size and lack of shops are noted.

Guests generally found the cottage cosy and the beds comfortable. However, there were a few negative comments about the firmness of the mattresses and the control of heating, suggesting room for improvement.

While the cottage is equipped for a holiday stay, some guests reported issues with Wi-Fi, heating control, and kitchen utensils. The lack of a washing machine and freezer was also mentioned, indicating that the facilities could be better.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the owner's thoughtfulness in the reviews provided. Therefore, it is not possible to assess this category accurately.

But freezing at night. No heating on after about 10 o'clock until 8 in the morning and we were only left thin summer duvets and the thin summer blankets. So cold. Why?

Maveen was on hand to welcome us and give any advise we needed. We were lucky with the weather warm and dry. The Bulls Head pub is fabulous and the food is very good. We would reccomend the cottage to anyone. Also the Dales are beautiful and interesting places to see.

We had a warm welcome from the owner on our arrival. She opened the gates and guided us in. It's 2 miles from Eyam, the Plague Village. 20 minutes from Chatworth House and Bakewell. We had a lovely day at Crich Tramway Museum. Excellent meals at the Bulls Head in the village and the Cupola in Stoney Middleton. Stoney's Fish & Chip shop is definitely worth a visit. We would stay again
