This semi-detached cottage is attached to the owners home in the delightful Derbyshire village of Brassington. Situated just a couple of miles from Carsington Water, this wonderful cottage is ideal for a romantic retreat in the Peak District National Park. Step through the front stable door into the well-equipped open plan living area with a compact kitchen and a comfy sitting area, where you can kick back and relax after a day out and about. Head up the beautifully-painted staircase to the charming double bedroom in the eaves of the cottage, which features a full-height window offering magnificent views across the fields. Outside the cottage is a small seating area, and with shared use of the owners garden, you can enjoy a morning coffee as you plan the days excursions. The village of Brassington boasts a couple of friendly pubs serving food. Just over two miles away is Carsington Water where you can try out a range of watersports, and of course the whole area is a walkers paradise with fantastic walking and cycling trails all around, including the High Peak Trail, a 17 mile bridleway which runs from Dowlow to Cromford. Whether you are after an action-packed adventure, or a peaceful retreat in the country, this lovely cottage is bound to provide a holiday to remember.
Brassington is a tranquil, unspoiled conservation village on the outskirts of the Peak District National Park. Brassington has cottages dating back to the 17th and 18th Centuries and is a traditional limestone village. It has two public houses, both of which serve good food, and the bustling town of Matlock is just eight miles away for a wider range of shops and other amenities. Carsington Water is only two miles' distance and offers many outdoor pursuits such as sailing, boating, windsurfing and cycling.

Would 100% recommend a stay here and would not hesitate to go back. Being offered milk and biscuits on arrival was an extra bonus. Two great pubs within a few minutes walk was lovely so that you didnât have to cook, but had all the facilities in the house if you wanted to stay in.

Lovely, cosy space with all the amenities we needed. Great location with excellent views of countryside and short walk to a very nice village pub. Very helpful pre-arrival booklet and additional instructions in cottage made our whole experience stress-free and Richard couldn't have been more helpful in keeping us informed when there was a temporary local internet outage affecting the village which was soon sorted. Many thanks indeed for a most enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Nice and quite with a great view from the bedroom. Nicely tucked away but close to local facilities and walks from the doorstep. Owner is a very nice pleasant chap and keeps his property in a excellent condition. Will visit again
