About this property
Located in the picturesque village of Monyash in Derbyshire, this detached, stone-built cottage has been beautifully decorated and furnished to a very high standard - a fact which is reflected in its Gold Award from the Tourist Board. Situated on a Peak District hill farm with rolling countryside all around and wonderful views, this cottage has four superb en-suite bedrooms, a large oak beamed sitting room, stone floors throughout and a wood burning stove. There is an excellent kitchen area where you can prepare sumptuous meals before relaxing in the secluded courtyard garden with a glass of something chilled, or if you prefer, you can stroll along the road to the 17th century pub and enjoy an excellent meal.
This cottage is suitable for all guests and is an ideal base for exploring the Peak District National Park. With the market town of Bakewell, home to the famous puddings, just a short drive away, and the famous spa town of Buxton, with its opera house, close by, this cottage is perfect for a family getaway in the beautiful Peak District countryside.

The lights in bathrooms are automatic along with fan which is no problem, except when in the shower the light goes off after a time; fine in bathrooms with window/skylight but not in one without, where plunged into darkness (not a huge problem just worth mentioning). Beautifully maintained garden with several seating areas which would be lovely on spring/summer day and evening. Everything had been thought of. The kitchen was very well equipped. The welcome pack was generous and thoughtful, including flowers, chocolates, Prosecco and a well filled fruit bowl - this was greatly appreciated. We had a wonderful few days and would happily return to this delightful barn.

Equipped to the highest standard. The location is perfect for exploring the whole Peak district or beautiful walks right from the doorstep. This year it was my wifeâs birthday during our stay and Gary had left flowers along with a card on the doorstep.
