Highfield House is a distinctive, detached three storey Edwardian property, close to the bustling town center of Bakewell in the Peak District National Park. The pet friendly house is well furnished so has everything you will need for a comfortable holiday, with friends or extended family. From Highfield House, cyclists and walkers can access the amazing countryside without having to get into the car or use public transport. There are miles of local walks with well-regarded pubs offering food and refreshments as a rewarding destination. Bakewell is of course close to many national gems such as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Inside the house, there is plenty of room to socialize after a busy day and chill out in the sitting room around the open fire or in the kitchen dining room. All kitchen appliances are top of the range which should satisfy the “chefs” amongst visitors. Granite work surfaces in the kitchen and hardwood floors throughout the hallway/kitchen and dining-room, makes it easy for everyone to relax in comfort and enjoy your holiday. Sleeping up to seven people across four spacious and comfortable bedrooms, the house combines both modern and antique styles creating a welcoming ambience. There is a large bathroom on the first floor and shower room on the second floor. The terraced garden and secluded courtyard are there to be enjoyed throughout the seasons. Be sure to dine on the terrace while enjoying views over the hills and rooftops of the town. There are many hidden spots to discover and enjoy within the multi-level garden as well as a pond and an established herb garden! Enjoy your morning coffee in the courtyard just outside the kitchen/dining area. Take a stroll down and explore the local town of Bakewell. Famed for its vibrant market and award-winning tasty pudding, you are sure to find plenty of places to enjoy a delicious meal. There is a host of good traditional shops where you can pick up picnic essentials before taking a walk along the scenic River Wye. The weekly Monday market is a great draw for visitors to the town where you can source excellent produce to create your family-favorite meals back at the house. Visit The Old House Museum just a few hundred yards from the house to learn about the rich history of the area, while the Bakewell Visitor Centre in the market square is where you can discover more about the many unique attractions of the Peak District. The castle-like beauty of Haddon Hall is an easy walk from the house and known for its fairytale wonder and spectacular architecture. It is well worth a trip to Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire; here you can find a 105 acre garden with water-features, sculptures, and a Victorian rock garden, There is also a working farmyard and woodland play area for the little ones, and so much historic splendor awaiting to be discovered. Be sure to explore the natural beauty of the National Park. Activities in the area include Canoeing on the Derwent at Matlock Bath or sailing on Carsington water or exploring the Blue John Mines at Castleton, and so much more. It makes the perfect place to try something new, being home to 202 sq miles of open access land and 1,867 miles of rights of way to explore with beautiful scenery all around. The villages within the park are full of history such as Eyam, which famously isolated itself during the plague, and Hathersage where Little John is believed to be buried.

Best known for its tasty pudding, the attractive market town of Bakewell can be found resting in Derbyshire, at the centre of the scenic Peak District National Park. There is a good range of quaint shops, restaurants and pubs in the town, as well as a welcoming farmers' market. There are plenty of wonderful attractions within easy reach such as Dark and White Peaks, Alton Towers, Chatsworth House and so much more!

Characterful three-storey Edwardian townhouse.

Four bedrooms: First floor - 1 x king-size (zip/link can be twin on request), 1 x double, Second floor - 1 x second-floor double, 1 x second-floor 3/4 single.

Bathroom with bath (shower over) basin, heated towel rail and WC.

Second-floor shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Please Note: The garden is uneven and multi-level, and may unfortunately not be suitable for those with limited mobility, there is an unfenced pond in the garden, children to be supervised at all times, however the enclosed courtyard gives you an alternative outdoor space to enjoy.

Please Note: The parking space is not suitable for cars over 1.8 meters width wing mirror to wing mirror, additionally, there is space on the road at the front of the house and the adjoining roads have unmetered parking.
