3 Bedrooms- This Grade 11 listed detached 17th Century cottage is very peaceful and secluded, offering every opportunity to relax in the private gardens, or providing an excellent base from which to explore the Peak District. It is accessed from a short gated drive, taking you to the garden on the banks of the River Wye (the river has been fenced for security).

This south facing cottage enjoys some wonderful views of the river and the mature gardens that surround the property. The lawned area runs down to the river banks for about 500 metres. You enter the cottage through a porch into the large, beamed sitting room with plenty of space to relax in front of the log fire which is set into the original gritstone fireplace. There is a writing desk, useful for occasional working while you are away from home. A door leads into the fully equipped kitchen. (Basic food items and household essentials are included and a food hamper can be provided on request.)

A separate door from the kitchen takes you to the dining room with feature gritstone fireplace and garden views. The stairs lead to the first floor - the main bedroom (double bed), with vaulted and beamed ceiling, has an en-suite bathroom and the bay window offers a peaceful view out over the garden and river.

The other two bedrooms are twin bedded. (Anti-allergy pillows and duvets are available on request.) The general bathroom has a bath with separate shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin. At the back of the cottage there is a small conservatory, which is appealing in the darker winter months. Guests will have use of the gardens that are immediately to the front of the cottage down to the waters edge (young children should be supervised) and a further large area of rough grass pasture.
