    About this property

Clarborough 0.7 miles. Settled within the owner's beautiful orchard is this unique glamping hut, offering an eco-friendly romantic retreat for two in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Bramley Orchard Glamping lies in the village of Hayton, near to the village of Clarborough and the bustling market town of Retford, providing a wonderful base for outdoor adventures beginning from your doorstep. Take in the charming exterior of its timber frame, passing the pretty bistro set on the veranda and the butchers block home to the induction hob, before entering the open-plan living space. A traditional woodburning stove sits in the heart of the property offering plenty of heat for cool winter nights, along with electric heaters for added warmth, with a sofa bed to the right which transforms into a king-size pull-out bed. The pretty kitchenette sideboard has a sink and small fridge/freezer, while the delightful folding dining table and chairs is perfect for romantic meals for two. The shower room features crisp, white Victorian tiling in the shower, a beautiful copper tap over the basin, and an industrial style copper heated towel rail. Several clever storage areas have been built into this timber frame, with a lockable shed for bike and luggage storage accessed externally, and a separate log store for all your fuel supplies. Spend summer evenings out on your veranda tucking into a tasty meal whipped up using the essential appliances at hand, or gather around the firepit to keep warm while you stargaze. In the mornings, wake up to the sounds of birds and local wildlife before walking out to the mound in the orchard, climbing to the top and enjoying the glimpses of the surrounding countryside. Plenty of walks can be enjoyed right from your doorstep, with circular routes taking you out of Hayton and around Clarborough along the Chesterfield Canal, widely recognised as one of the most beautiful and varied waterways in England, the canal is highly popular with walkers and has some of the best canal fishing in the country. Or take your bikes out and enjoy a longer route, soaking up the scenery of Nottinghamshire's countryside. Find the Idle Valley Nature Reserve just a walk away; Home to a network of lakes, wetland and grassland, this Site of Special Scientific Interest is home to a vast range of wildlife and is recognised as one of the richest birding sites in the region. Admire the beautiful Traquair Murals at St Peter's Church in Clayworth, whilst Gainsborough Old Hall is also well worth a visit - Built in 1460 the hall is one of the best preserved medieval manor houses in England. Venture into the town of Retford to sample the lovely restaurants, cafés and pubs before visiting the Bassetlaw Museum, the luscious Kings Park, and the Majestic Theatre. The National Trust's Clumber Park is a beautiful spot for a picnic with a scenic lake, woodland walks and a Gothic chapel here, while the famous Sherwood Forest is another fantastic walking spot, home to The Major Oak, a huge English oak tree, and setting for the legend of Robin Hood. Enjoy getting to know this lovely area of the East Midlands with your loved one during a romantic break to Bramley Orchard Glamping.

Clarborough is a small village resting just a few miles outside of the market town of Retford in Nottinghamshire. The village is home to a pub, a spar shop, a Post Office and a primary school, offering a friendly community atmosphere. The bustling town of Retford is within easy reach for a wider range of amenities, and a host of attractions rest in the area including Creswell Crags Museum & Prehistoric Gorge, Tropical Butterfly House Wildlife & Falconry Centre, Daneshill Lakes, Sundown Adventureland and Sherwood Forest.

" Hosts very friendly and welcoming. We'll marked walking and cycling tracks nearby. "

" “We were met with a warm welcome, shown round the cabin and beautiful grounds and given lots of details about the surrounding areas and stunning walks right from the doorstep to which we took full advantage. The cabin is clearly a labour of love which shows in the detail & honesty of the place. It is a cosy, secluded, charming little cabin with everything we needed to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing Glamping style peaceful & private stay. The outside cooking facilities were ample, with a induction hob, kettle & toaster, and option of a large BBQ. Stan the Goldendoodle had a beautiful, safe and secure place to enjoy without the worry of keeping an eye on him at all times which was perfect. The fire pit is close to the cabin with a good supply of logs included in the price of your stay and is perfect for those lazy evenings to sit back and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the natural orchard and surrounding areas. Sally & Simon are really friendly & approachable and couldn’t have made our stay any more enjoyable. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious cup of coffee and friendly chat before we left and we are already planning when we can return. A truly beautiful part of the country and definitely worth a visit with charming surrounding areas to explore whilst there. 5* hosts and accommodation, would recommend in a heartbeat.” "

" “The cabin was cosy and romantic with all the amenities we needed. Sally and Simon were the most accommodating hosts and were more than happy to go out of their way to make us and our pup feel welcome. The Orchard is fully fenced and there are countless scenic walks just on the doorstep making it a perfect dog friendly holiday. The cabin offers the perfect simple living experience with a log burning stove and comfortable couch come king size bed. We will be back soon and look forward to seeing this beautiful location in different seasons.” "

" Very welcoming hosts on arrival, couldn’t fault them. They made themselves available in case anything was needed and were happy to provide things to do. The cottage itself is perfect for a quiet weekend away especially if you’re into walking. If you’re easily bored then maybe take a tablet with you so you can watch something as there is no TV but this wasn’t an issue. Would 100% stay again. Constructive criticism: Lists of things to do List of walking places with routes (If you don’t know the area then you could become easily lost) Water pressure isn’t great but this was understandable. "The hosts were friendly and were very helpful in providing recommendations of places to the visit in the local area. The fire pit was well stocked for logs and kindling. Great for visitors with dogs. Had fun relaxing in the evenings, cooking on the veranda. Would highly recommend."
