All three bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities, with a double and family room being located on the first floor and a further double with a fully adapted wet room that may be suitable for wheelchair users, on the ground floor. Outside, there is a lawned garden with furniture, ideal for children to run off some steam.

A ten minute walk from the cottage will bring you to the Twice Brewed Inn at Bardon Mill which is set amongst stunning scenery, and serves locally sourced home-cooked meals and is also happy to welcome any furry friends! The area is a delight for walkers and cyclists alike, being situated just one mile from Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as being close to the Pennine Way, Hadrian’s Cycleway (Route 72) and the Sandstone Way cycle route. For history lovers, why not visit the nearby Roman sites of Vindolanda, a fascinating Roman fort, Housesteads and The Roman Army Museum? The small market town of Haltwhistle is just a ten minute drive away and boasts a good range of shops and pubs, as well as a great leisure centre which includes a heated open air swimming pool. With easy access to attractions such as Alnwick Castle and the Heritage Coast, Stone Acre Barn makes a truly great base for a family holiday.

Known as the 'Centre of Britain', this small market town is a great place from which to explore both Northumberland and Cumbria. Haltwhistle boasts a good range of shops and pubs - one of which, The Black Bull, is a real ale pub serving good food! There is an excellent leisure centre with heated open air swimming pool and cycle hire in the town, with pony trekking nearby. One of the best preserved stretches of Hadrian's Wall is only a mile to the north. A fantastic base for a Nortumberland adventure!
