Set within the boundary of the owners’ own property, Garden Retreat is perfect for romantic getaways, and lies within the quiet village of Marbury. It enjoys stunning views over the village, including the nearby lake and church. For those wanting to get out and explore the area, there is plenty to see and do including plenty of walks, as well as the Cheshire Cycleway (Regional Route 70) and the Llangollen branch of the Shropshire Union Canal. Shrewsbury town is approximately 30 minutes’ drive away and boasts an array of bars, shops and restaurants. After a busy day sightseeing, guests can return to the property and enjoy the private garden with garden furniture overlooking the nearby lake. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 90 yards.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable and perfect for a couple. Superior towels, bedding and toiletries. Large bed, very comfy. Owners attentive and welcoming. Kitchen had more than enough pots and pans etc for us, but if a large meal was planned the owners can provide additional equipment. Bathroom has double shower, bath in bedroom. Be careful on the lanes into the village, they are narrow and twisty, but the peaceful location and views towards the mere more than make up for this. We would be happy to go there again.

The cottage was lovely and the area had lots of interesting places to visit. I went for peace and quiet and that was delivered in buckets. Hannah and her family were the perfect hosts and sorted any issues for me (WiFi reception, a well stuck door and an impossibly sealed marmalade jar). I enjoyed my time in the Garden Retreat and hope to return.

The most perfect 5 nights in the garden retreat.You almost don’t want to recommend so it’s available for a next time…..Lovely location and view, very comfortable with everything you may need to make this cottage a perfect location.Host ‘s are very welcoming and baked us a beautiful lemon drizzle cake ; even after returning off their own holiday.You couldn’t wish for a more beautiful village with the Swan pub and lovely walks available right from the doorstep.Definitely need to return very soon.
