About this property

Bleasdale is one of four Lantern and Larks sites nestled in the beautiful Lancashire countryside, within easy reach of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, this is the perfect place for a family break. Sit back and relax in one of five luxury safari tents, fully equipped with a cosy wood burning stove, hot running water and comfortable bedrooms. Parties of six or more can book multiple tents and enjoy a group break.

Each of our luxury Lantern and Larks tents accommodates six guests and has three bedrooms that each sleep two people. There is one king size room, one twin room and one bunk bed room per tent.

You could also fit a travel cot in any of the bedrooms (these can be hired if required).

Our Lantern and Larks glamping site is situated above a private section of the River Brock. Build dams, catch sticklebacks, wander down the sleepy river banks to quiet pools in the dappled shade of the overhanging trees. Or build dens and camps in the wood behind the tents. It's a natural adventure playground for your kids.

From our beautiful forest of Bowland Lantern and Larks site, there is direct access to the local footpath network, and you can visit the Stone Age circle located 20 minutes' walk from your tent. A little further on and you reach the open access area of the Bowland Fells where you can walk for miles without seeing a car – or even other people. All this without going near a public road.

For the more intrepid, there are the local cycle networks and bridleways close to the luxury Lantern & Larks Bleasdale glamping campsite. Cycle to the nearby Beacon Fell Country Park from the glamping camp site, or to the pretty village of Chipping with its pubs, cafes and ice cream shop! If this seems a little hard work, there is a business hiring electric bicycles located on the estate.

If other forms of transport appeal, there are local horse-riding centres close by and they specialise in taking riders on treks round the local riding network. Or take a cruise on the Lancaster canal from the Barton Grange Garden Centre – only 10 minutes away.

The local wildlife can be stunning with everything from glimpses of deer in the valley below your tents to the famous "sky dancer" or hen harrier on the fells above you. If your tastes run to the more exotic, we have the Bowland Wild Boar Park a 20-minute drive away, and for those keen on catching the local wildlife, there are several fishing lakes in the area, ranging from pike and perch to trout and salmon.

We had a fabulous time in Curlew. The tent is spacious yet cosy and very comfortable with everything you could need provided. Rachel was really friendly and helpful with check in, thank you! The location was lovely and peaceful for a relaxing family weekend. We’ll definitely return!

Absolutely loved our stay. Exploring the surrounding area with the dogs was a real treat; fields of sheep with lambs at foot, waterfalls, stunning vistas, and beautiful stone farmhouses. The local farm shop sells organic local food - highly recommend the sausages. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of blankets. The lamps provided all the light we needed after sundown, and playing scrabble by lamplight was a highlight. Very well-equipped kitchen and plenty of storage space for clothing. Lovely soft towels and hot shower. Would love to return in the summer months for longer.
