Situated in a peaceful and idyllic setting, in the heart of the Lancashire countryside, away from all the hustle and bustle, this semi-detached cottage is in a rural location offering super sunsets, yet is close to local amenities. The cottage is an ideal getaway destination for a wonderful country break. The small and tranquil village of Halsall is located just 3 miles from the market town of Ormskirk, with a variety of individual shops, cafés, restaurants and a twice weekly market. The local gastro pub and restaurant which can be reached within a 20-minute walk, offers meals, or take a long boat cruises along the canal for either afternoon tea or even an evening tapas cruise.
Cyclists and walkers can explore for miles along this part of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. There are more eateries in neighbouring Town Green, which also has a train station, where you can take the train into central Liverpool in half an hour, to enjoy a visit to the theatre or a shopping spree in the popular Liverpool One. The coastal town of Southport is just 8 miles away, with its long sandy beach and promenade. Visit some of the popular attractions including Splash World, the Botanic Gardens and the renowned Lord Street with an abundance of shops, bars and restaurants. There are a number of events held annually in Southport, including the famous Air Show, Southport Flower Show and the British Musical Fireworks Championships, which is held in Victoria Park. Southport is also home to the world renowned Royal Birkdale Golf Club which hosts a number of international events, located just a 10-minute drive from Buttercup Cottage. Buttercup cottage had everything we wanted for a relaxing stay away from it all but still within easy reach of local amenities (some walkable) and places of interest.The host was also very welcoming and the goodie box a welcome surprise

Would highly recommend buttercup cottage really clean and tidy on arrival, michelle introduced herself after we had settled in and showed us around the place.She took us to swimming pool which was stunning and showed us how to use jacuzzi and sauna.Told us places to eat and drink will definitely be going back again.

Lovely cottage with a great pool and easy access to several places. Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Furniture inside the cottage is a little tired but doesn't detract from the great holiday we had.
