I expected our accommodation to be tiny but I was still shocked on arrival as to how tiny it was. We couldn’t unpack our car due to lack of space and storage. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and it would have been a fag to make it up every night so once we made it up on our first night we just straightened it each morning. The balcony chairs and disposable barbecue appeared on our second evening. We ate out every day due to the cramp cooking facilities. The owner and son were both lovely people and I am finding hard to write this review.

The property was immaculately clean and tidy and very well equipped. The bathroom was a bit small, but that did not prevent us from being able to wash and shower as we needed. The welcome note and useful information provided by our host was lovely, as was the provision of a large amount of coffee, tea and other extras. The vouchers for the nearby ‘Loft Bistro’ was a lovely gesture and the food there us to be recommended. The location was absolutely perfect for the 2 different parts of our break, firstly to provide a base for the walking we were doing with friends and colleagues in different locations around the area, then for the 2nd half of the trip spending our time visiting other locations. We also found great food one lunchtine at ’coffee and clay’ in Skipton, and enjoyed a very substantial afternoon tea at ‘Apricot Meringue’ in Clitheroe. We visited the Whalley Wine Bar, in the nearby village of Whalley, and had a wonderful hour there over a drink or two. The walking opportunities in the area are amazing, and I’m sure that we’ll be back at some time to find some more walking spots, and good food & drink. I want to address a comment made about the road noise, its a dual carriageway and as such is very busy during the day, but throughout our stay when we were in the property we had both windows open and (apart from overnight when we were sleeping) the sliding entrance into the property and we were never unduly aware of the noise from the road, much of which is because of the extensive tree and Bush cover to reduce noise. It should also be noted that other properties in the same area of the site were occupied for most of our stay and they never referenced the noise either. Both my wife and I had a brilliant week and would absolutely recommend The Hideaway Pod as a fantastic place to stay.

Extremely uncomfortable bed and very noisy! Felt like we where sleeping on the actual A59 We have stayed in several Sykes cottages accommodation, this one we would never come back to. A blessing for the decking outside. We actually stayed in another air b&b over the weekend to get some sleep! We travel up every month for work and don’t spend much time in a property. With this one we spent even less. We know the area very well having lived in Clitheroe for 42 years until last year. We have a local business and where very disappointed overall. For future we would only advise a single person staying here. We also have about £1000 of damage to the front of our car from the well placed boulder in the parking area! Which we believe lots of guests and even the owners son has had damage from! Just move it!
