Acre Hill Cottage is a charming retreat praised for its peacefulness, thoughtful touches, and suitability for dogs. Guests appreciate the welcoming atmosphere, cosy decor, and the stunning views, making it an ideal base for countryside exploration. The enclosed garden and local wildlife add to the cottage's appeal.
Most guests found the cottage clean and well-maintained, though one review cited concerns about cleanliness, including dust and cobwebs. This seems to be an outlier, as other reviews do not mention such issues.
The location is generally appreciated for its tranquillity and scenic views, with direct access to countryside walks. However, one review mentioned challenges with finding the property and a lack of nearby amenities, which suggests that the location may not suit everyone.
Guests find the cottage cosy and the bed comfortable. Some concerns were raised about the sofa and the open-plan bathroom, but overall, the cottage is seen as a comfortable stay.
Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and welcome gifts. However, there are mixed reviews about the WiFi reliability and some guests suggested additional kitchenware. The lack of opening windows was noted by a few guests, impacting the score.
The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with several guests mentioning welcome packs including treats for both humans and dogs. While these gifts are warmly received, it's important to note that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed.

What a little gem, I am so pleased that we found this gorgeous little cottage. There's everything we needed for a peaceful back-to-nature week in the countryside and lots of thoughtful touches like prosecco, biscuits and dog treats made it even more special. The enclosed garden was perfect for our 2 dogs and the logs and coal made getting the stove going easy. The local area is definitely good to explore and we had some delicious lunches in Clitheroe and Barnoldswick. Loved it so much we booked to stay next year too.

Lovely cottage surrounded with wonderful scenery. The cottage had everything we needed and the welcome pack with its biscuits was very welcome when we arrived. It was really clean and so much thought had been put into the decor. The weather was wonderful so we were able to sit outside read and stare at the view.It was good to chat to Vicki and discover more about the farm. ( She is lovely)You must try the eggs, so fresh! As you can tell we loved it and will return

Wonderful location with amazing views and very peaceful. It was also great to have the field opposite to walk the dogs. The cottage is cosy and nicely decorated. For us, the things that let it down were the unreliable WiFi. The first three days we didn’t have any and then it returned but wasn’t consistent. We would have also preferred to have the bathroom enclosed. It has no ceiling and is part of the overall living area and kitchenette. Also, windows throughout would have helped with ventilation rather than than having to open the front door or patio door. The three windows that are in the property have glass but no way of opening them.
