About this property

Nestled in the centre of the picturesque village of Hurst Green, Lancashire, in the scenic Ribble Valley, is the stunning 5 Clough Cottages.

Built in 2019 in an eco-style, the delightful end terrace retreat is set over 2 levels and offers a great level of luxury.

Drive through the electric entrance gates and park up in the car port or allocated parking space, before entering through the private garden gate. Step through the door into the stunning open-plan living space, which houses a sleek SieMatic kitchen with state-of-the-art Neff appliances.

Perch yourself at the breakfast bar and keep the designated chef company whilst they conjure up a feast or choose to make yourself useful by preparing the outdoor dining table.

Fully retracting bi fold doors lead out to the south facing sun terrace, which features a glass balustrade overlooking the lawn and dining area; relax in the two sun recliners should you stay during the summer months.

After enjoying your sundowners, retreat inside and slump on the contemporary sofa, with a Smart TV and Sonos sound system for entertainment.

Climb the stairs and discover the bedrooms; the master bedroom is fitted with a king-size bed and wall mounted Smart TV, whilst the second bedroom features a single bed and ample storage.

Complimenting the interior is the sleek shower room, housing Villeroy & Boch fitments, a Hansgrohe raindance shower with variojet attachment, electric heated towel rail and shaver point․

Situated in Hurst Green are two fabulous pubs, The Shireburn Arms and The Bayley Arms, so you can reward yourself with a pint after a long ramble.

For further amenities head into Whalley, with its 14th century Cistercian Abbey ruins, or the bustling market town of Clitheroe, where you can visit Clitheroe Castle Museum, sample the excellent choice of eateries, or browse in the independent shops.

Scenic walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep - including the famous 5.5-mile Tolkien Trail. Alternatively enjoy an evening stroll up towards Stonyhurst, or a morning amble to the footbridge which crosses the River Ribble․

The Ribble Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is the official centre of the Kingdom. Day trips by car to Harrogate, the Lake District, Manchester, or the lovely coastal town of Lytham are all within reach. Whether you want to stay put and enjoy the amenities or venture further afield, a stay at 5 Clough Cottages is nothing short of exceptional.

In Lancashire, within the heart of Ribble Valley, there is a little village called Hurst Green that has ties to Stonyhurst College, a Jesuit institution, thanks to its past. The community is located along the River Ribble, close to its intersection with the River Hodder, 5 miles (8 km) from Longridge and 6 miles (10 km) from Clitheroe. Although many locations in the UK assert to have influenced J.R.R. Tolkien's creation of Middle Earth, the author undoubtedly spent a significant amount of time at Stonyhurst College writing on The Lord of the Rings during the Second World War. The 5.5-mile Tolkien Trail examines the Ribble Valley, which may have served as inspiration to the author, and many people have drawn links to the area's natural beauty.

The property was very well equipped to a very high standard and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The outside space was amazing and the views stunning.

  • Paul

A great location for many trips around the area, and the bus service was also good for local areas. The outside space was lovely with great views, alas the weather we had we could not enjoy sitting outside. But would recommend this cottage and would be happy to return.

  • Kate

Outside seating areas nicely private. Kitchen well-equipped and whole property was very clean. Patio door was a bit stiff to lock but overall a comfortable stay and I would visit again. Lots of walking from the property or nearby. Millie's coffee shop excellent for coffee and breakfast - the cakes looked good too but didn't try them.
