Don't forget to stop by the neighbourhood cheesemongers for a wedge of premium Lancashire cheese! Every Thursday, the street market is another fun place to shop. The tranquil Lancaster Canal runs straight through the middle of the town, where you can see the passing canal boats and take in the plethora of wildlife it supports. In fact, the adjoining Millennium Green, a location on the western bank of the River Wyre, has been set aside for neighbourhood gatherings and the conservation of wildlife. to the Trough of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it is also convenient to Blackpool, Morecambe, Lancaster, Kirkby Lonsdale, Kendal, Windermere, and the breath-taking Lake District National Park.
