We had a lovely week at the Irishman’s tower. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and much appreciated. The tower was very comfortable, with an open fire, lovely bed and shower. We had a perfect week, on the Sunday the farmers market was on and it was great to visit, buy and enjoy the food we bought. The tower is only 15 minutes from the transport museum in Leyland which we visited a great visit and lovely walks around estuaries. We had a guided tour with Alan around the house he was funny, informative and there is so much history which was fascinating and informative. We visited the cafe afterwards and had a lovely lunch, drinks and cake afterwards, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Then included with the tour we went around the garden which was lovely, the magnolias were beautiful and you could see the new plants coming up and could envisage what it was going to look like. There are a few nice places to eat meals out we recommend the Royal Oak in Riley Green a few minutes down the road by car it was great food. We would recommend anyone visit hoghton tower and stay in the Irishman’s tower it is a gem of a place and everyone is so lovely and knowledgable.

Maybe I am biased, however, always a joy to be here at Hoghton Tower. Staff and everyone there are the salt of the earth. Always a joy and this trip was no exception.
