Guests say

Sunnyside Hestbank offers a convenient location close to local amenities, the seafront, and a canal, ideal for small families and those with mobility issues. While some guests found the property to be clean and spacious, others noted it felt tired and in need of better upkeep. The property's beds and furnishings received mixed reviews, with some guests experiencing discomfort.

Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property very clean, while others reported issues with damp smells, grime, and a lack of attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to the sea, canal, and local amenities, making it a superb choice for guests looking to explore the area.

Comfort levels are inconsistent, with several guests complaining about poor quality mattresses and a lack of living space. However, the property is also described as comfortable and convenient by others.

Facilities are adequate with a functioning cooker and parking, but maintenance issues like noisy appliances, outdated heaters, and a lack of clear instructions detract from the overall experience.

There is no mention of gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness of the host.

I only gave this one star because the beds were awful; one of them was so bad we joked about it being like a bed of nails. It couldn't be used at all, so we had to bunk up together. We ran Cottages.com to ask for help, but none was forthcoming; they were very evasive. It was impossible to contact the landlord; he didn't respond to calls. We would have moved out immediately, but couldn't find any other availability in the area. The property is very dated, but very clean. The cooker is old, but functioning. It's just a shame the landlord can't put decent mattresses on the beds or have the decency to respond to queries. It was our worst experience ever in all our time renting holiday property. Location superb and with better sleeping accommodation, I would have given it three stars!
