Morecambe (soon to be home to Eden Project North) is a classic seaside resort, offering a sandy beach and a long, scenic promenade. You’ll find several supermarkets nearby, along with a wide selection of takeaways if you’d prefer not to cook, and plenty of restaurants and bars in town. At the north end of the promenade, Happy Mount Park awaits with its adventure playground, summer splash area, sports pitches, events, and a charming café. The flat is in a fairly tired area of Morecambe, with a lot of vacant shop properties, and poor quality shops, although the fish and chip shop is recommended. The flat itself smelt of damp, and signs were obvious in several rooms. Firstly, no welcome pack was available to us, and we had to ask where the cutlery drawer was as it was hidden away. The kitchen had the bare minimum of hardware, but the damp smell discouraged us from eating in. There were no instructions as to where rubbish should be put and when it was collected. Also no instructions to operate the cooker. The living room had minimal furniture but no pictures on the walls. The bedrooms were comfy, but there were no drawers to unpack our cases into, just rails to hang shirts etc. The bathroom lacked a mirror on the wall to assist in shaving, only a small hand mirror was present. The bath itself was chipped in places, and on first use the shower leaked into the kitchen. The games room had a table football and some small games. There was no sofa, and no second tv. We would not go back, and would find it difficult to recommend.
