Hutton Roof is a small hamlet and is home to famous crags which contain some of the best areas of limestone pavement in Britain, with a wealth of unusual plants and animals. This property is well-positioned to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Three Peaks, and is only a scenic drive away from a host of wonders; head to Ingleton to embark on the 4-mile Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, trek up to Thornton Force Waterfall and be amazed by the subterranean passages of White Scar Cave. The Lake District is equally accessible from Moor Cottage, with Lake Windermere around a 30 minute drive.Visit Grasmere to taste unique gingerbread and see Wordsworth's Dove Cottage, or travel to Hill Top to visit Beatrix Potter's house.Ramblers will revel in a huge variety of walks from easy lakeside ambles to challenging mountain treks. There is a butcher, a decent bar, and a Post Office/general shop in the settlement. Seven miles away is the picturesque old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, and another twelve will take you to Kendal, the Lake District's gateway. The historic city of Lancaster and the popular beach towns of Morecambe and Blackpool are conveniently close. Only 4 miles away lies the renowned rspb wildfowl refuge of Leighton Moss, and nearby Morecambe Bay is as well-known among birdwatchers. Silverdale and Arnside (both of which look out over the gorgeous Kent Estuary), Ingleton, Settle, and Clapham are a few other charming communities in the area. Nearby attractions include the famed topiary garden at Levens Hall and the magnificent garden of the historic Sizergh Castle. The neighbourhood is home to a wide variety of excellent eateries and bars. Walking, golfing, fishing, and horseback riding are all available in the area.
