Carnforth is the kind of place everyone has heard of, and many want to discover; it is situated just off the M6 and 20 miles south of the picturesque Lake District. Located at the head of Morecambe Bay, to the north of Lancaster (a historic town), 15 miles from the winding roads of the Yorkshire Dales, and only a hop, skip, and a jump from the Lake District, it is centrally located. Greenlands Farm Village features a cafe, a garden centre, a play area, and a variety of handmade goods and locally grown food. Also, having to walk to the lodge to pick up the key and the fob needed to gain access with car was a pain. The lodge was clean and the welcoming basket was a nice touch. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable however, the 2nd bedroom had a matress which was smaller than the base and not to comfortable. The recliner couch looked good on photo's (home from home), but wasn't comfy at all. The back was loose and to far back when upright. I felt like turning it up end to tighten any loose bolt's as I have done with my own. There was an upright vacumm which was empty on first sight but wasn't picking up. I took a closer look and found the pipe and filters totally blocked. I cleared it and washed the filters, although not the best it did pick up. Our stay was relaxing and the weather was good and hot which meant the balcony was very well used and enjoyed. The view of the lake was very nice. It would have been good to have the use of a cantilver umbrella as the deck was in full sun from midday until sunset, also a couple of fans would have given some relief from the heat indoors. These additions would have made are stay perfect. All in all we had a good stay, liked the site with all amenities close by. We would recommend this lodge.
