Guests say

Pickle Barn receives glowing praise for its stunning countryside views, peaceful location, and beautifully maintained, cosy interiors. Guests consistently highlight the warm, welcoming hosts and the high standard of cleanliness and comfort. The cottage is well-equipped, making it ideal for families and couples alike, with many guests eager to return. While the rural setting means access is via narrow lanes, the tranquil atmosphere and proximity to local attractions more than compensate. Occasional thoughtful touches, such as a welcome cake, are appreciated but not guaranteed. Overall, Pickle Barn offers an exceptional and relaxing holiday experience.

Multiple reviews describe the property as spotlessly clean, very well maintained, and prepared to a high standard. No negative comments regarding cleanliness were found.

The location is widely praised for its breathtaking views, tranquillity, and proximity to both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. The only minor drawback mentioned is the narrow, winding access roads, but guests generally feel the setting is worth it.

Guests consistently mention the cottage as cosy, warm (even in winter), spacious, and comfortable, with underfloor heating and quality furnishings. Only one minor mention of a cold bedroom due to weather conditions was noted.

The property is repeatedly described as very well equipped, with high-quality kitchenware, modern appliances, and everything needed for a 'home from home' stay. No significant issues with facilities or maintenance were reported.

Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as a welcome cake and friendly, attentive hosts. However, as these gestures are not guaranteed for every stay, guests should not expect them as standard.

The cottage had everything we needed plus lots of info on places to visit and things to do and WOW, the views were breathtaking and the location ideal for exploring the local area, we enjoyed days out at Morecambe, Windermere, Levens Hall, Ribblehead viaduct and Whitescar caves, so all in all a great place to stay, with great hosts and plenty to do, would happily book again !

My wife and I booked Pickle Barn for 3 nights and, having travelled from Northern Ireland, we couldn't have asked for more! Hosts, Steve and Mike were very welcoming, are two warm and kind people and it was an absolute pleasure to meet them both. Pickle Barn? Fabulous! The location was perfect (Excellent views from the accommodation), the accommodation itself was perfect, clean, cosy and all of the amenities you need for a stay. Recommend Pickle Barn to anyone and we wouldn't change a thing. We WILL be back! Thank you Mike and Steve for making our stay such a joy
