Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and lovely garden with scenic views. The location is ideal for exploring Cumbria and Northumberland, with easy access to local walks, a swimming pool, and nearby attractions. While some mention the lack of direct garden access from the cottage, most found this a minor issue. The property is especially recommended for families and dog owners seeking a relaxing countryside break.

Multiple reviews highlight the cottage as spotlessly clean and very well maintained throughout.

Guests consistently mention the picturesque setting, proximity to local walks, and convenient access to attractions, though some note limited weekday dining options nearby.

The cottage is described as warm, cosy, and comfortable, with quality beds and sofas contributing to a relaxing stay.

The property is well equipped with everything needed for a short break, including a gated garden and a well-appointed kitchen. The only minor drawback noted is the lack of direct access from the cottage to the garden.

There are no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Location: Having a couple of pubs in walking distance and a Co-op close by was handy. It's worth noting that most walks in the Lake District require a bit of a drive, but the roads were good and there wasn't much traffic.Cottage: The house itself was brilliant. Cosy, comfortable, clean and full of character. Very well appointed as well, it had all the equipment we needed for our holiday.

We stayed at the cottage for our family holiday and absolutely loved it! The cottage is nicely decorated and has a really warm and cosy feel. The garden overlooks a field, and although there isn’t a direct door from the cottage to the garden, this didn’t bother us at all. The garden is also gated, so our dog could have a good run around. Our girls really enjoyed swimming at the local swimming pool, which is just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage. There is also a local park for children nearby. We loved going for walks along the river too. There is a pub about a 20-minute walk from the cottage, and they serve food from Thursdays. We also visited Ullswater Lake, which is about half an hour away by car. There are lots of lovely walks in the surrounding area.We would definitely recommend this place and would happily stay here again!
