Peacefully located in the most amazing setting, this outstanding holiday home is set in 4 acres of grounds and overlooks a small lake. The single storey property has been furnished and equipped to a good standard and is tucked away down a country lane in the beautiful Eden Valley. An abundance of wildlife is attracted to the water and the view through the large glass windows from the living room across the lake is delightful. There are seating areas dotted around the lake for relaxing and viewing. Nearby is the traditional market town of Kirkby Stephen, which was the first town in Cumbria to be accredited with ’Walkers are Welcome’. There are many walking and cycling opportunities in the area, plus the famous and scenic Settle to Carlisle railway line runs through Kirkby Stephen. The Eden Valley is perfectly placed for touring the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Teasdale and Durham, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish border. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

This is our second time visiting swallows nest and it is absolutely amazing . It is in a very quiet area with nobody else around . The cottage is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need .

What a amazing cottage set in a beautiful location the view from the lounge overlooking the lake was just superb we also managed some lovely walk including Smardale Nature Reserve a very easy walk with lots of interesting features also worth a visit is Lowther Castle &Gardens the town of Kirby Stephen we can recommend The Mulberry Bush for lunch the staff were very welcoming.
