Gelderslack Barn receives glowing praise for its immaculate presentation, cosy atmosphere, and peaceful village setting. Guests consistently highlight the high standard of the barn conversion, attention to detail, and the warm welcome from the hosts. The property is well equipped, dog-friendly, and ideally located for scenic walks and a friendly local pub. Thoughtful touches such as welcome packs are frequently mentioned, though not guaranteed. Minor negatives include the double bed size and occasional flies in summer, but these are far outweighed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Cleanliness is repeatedly described as spotless, immaculate, and of the highest standard throughout the reviews, with no negative comments.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to walks, a welcoming pub, and easy access to Kirkby Stephen. Only one minor mention of the village being quiet for those seeking more bustle.
Guests find the cottage extremely comfortable, cosy, and warm, with underfloor heating and a wood burner. The only minor issue raised is the double bed feeling small for those used to a king size.
Facilities are described as excellent, with everything needed for a home-from-home stay, including a well-equipped kitchen, enclosed garden, parking, and thoughtful amenities. Maintenance is praised as outstanding.
Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as welcome packs, milk, and hampers, as well as Christmas decorations. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

A well designed and equipped barn conversion, Finish is to a very high standard. All mod cons, nice small courtyard, ample parking for one. Peaceful and quiet surroundings. Lots of walks from the cottage, Black Bull Pub, is a proper country Pub, Great food and Staff, Nearby Kirkby Stephen( which you can walk to over the fields is as always a gem of a Cumbrian town, not flashy like Keswick, full of independent shops, everyone is so welcome and Friendly, Itâs a great location to explore..
