About this property

The Garden Flat is a stylish ground-floor apartment resting on the outskirts of the Grange-Over-Sands town centre in Cumbria. Perfect for a couple or solo traveller, this holiday home is a fantastic base for exploring the nearby promenade, or making your way into the Lake District National Park to enjoy some outdoor activities. When you arrive at the apartment, plenty of roadside parking makes unloading your bags a breeze, before taking a few steps down into the garden. Enter the property to find a compact and well-equipped kitchen where you can whip up a tasty dinner to enjoy in the dining room while you plan your holiday itinerary.

From here, the living/dining room offers a space to relax with an electric fire and another dining area for a casual meal before sitting down to flick through the TV. When it's time to rest, sink into the plush king-size bed in the beautifully decorated bedroom, and when you wake, get ready in style in the sleek shower room. Outside, the warmer months can be enjoyed in the greenery of the mature garden, with a cup of tea or glass of wine in hand. There's so much to see in the area, along with shops so you can stock up on the essentials, and pubs within walking distance if you don't fancy cooking or venturing too far, or head down to the promenade for a stroll in the fresh sea air.

Nearby, Cartmel is a charming village located in the heart of the Lake District, known for its beautiful Holker Hall and Gardens, as well as the Ornamental Gardens and Cartmel Priory. There are also plenty of charming shops and restaurants, making Cartmel a popular destination for tourists and locals alike; be sure to try its famous Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding! Slightly further afield, Kendal is a charming market town home to a variety of interesting attractions, including the Kendal Museum, Scout Scar Mushroom, Quaker Tapestry Museum, and Lakeland Museum. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in the Lake District National Park, including hiking, biking, and fishing, amongst some of the best scenery in the country.

The Garden Flat is a lovely choice for a break to pretty Cumbria.

Grange-over-Sands, an Edwardian resort between the Lake District fells and Morecambe Bay, has one of the northern England's mildest climates. The Furness Railway transformed Grange-over-Sands from a sleepy fishing village to a chic Edwardian resort. Visitors can enjoy a traffic-free promenade, beautiful ornamental gardens, golf courses, brass band concerts, and excellent bird watching. Lake Windermere (8 miles), the charming villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, and the home of sticky toffee pudding, Cartmel, with its famous racecourse and the 4th best restaurant in the UK, are all within easy reach.

It was clean but the flat is very gloomy inside, and there is no freezer or smart TV. The bedroom was a little damp feeling and there is a door to the cellar that could not lock so I pushed a chair against it as I was worried about security. However, the place was very peaceful and the area lovely.

It’s a village with a number of takeaways, convenience stores and restaurants based a 5 minutes car drive or 15 minutes walk. There is also Cartmel village less than 10 minutes away, where there are 2 Michelin star restaurants. The flat is very clean and tidy in a traditional style. It has all the facilities you need and is very spacious. It has a small garden with outside seating. The kitchen has all you need and there is plenty of fridge space. The bed was really comfortable and the living room was really comfortable. The only thing missing as it could really do with a smart TV. Although it does have a DVD player, most of us just don’t use them now. It would be nice to be able to log into Netflix. Smart TVs are so cheap now. Also no tin opener. But other than these 2 things no faults at all. I would love to stay here again hopefully I’ll be back soon.

! Perfectly equipped, a really comfortable bed, warm and cosy throughout. Lots of care has gone in to providing a pleasant stay in a superb location. I am already planning a return visit. Thank you for the prosecco too!
