Shower room: With walk-in shower, toilet and heated towel rail. .  Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included.  Initial logs for wood burner included, remainder available locally.  Travel cot and highchair.  .  Bike store available on request.  On road parking; unloading at the door.  1 small dog welcome.  No smoking. .  This charming 18th Century mid-terrace cottage offers an open plan living space on the ground floor with a cosy wood burner, and two bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor.  It is set in Alston, the highest market town in England, situated in Cumbria on the borders of Durham and Northumberland, and near to the border of North Yorkshire and the Dales and the Scottish Borders.  It also boasts to being the gateway to The Lake District, making it a perfect base to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty.  The town has a steeply rising cobbled high street and a very distinctive market cross, which has a small fruit and vegetable stall four mornings a week.  Alston has many independent shops, eateries, cafes and public houses, including a bakery which makes fresh bread and baked goods from scratch.  There are plenty of pubs that serve delicious homemade cooked meals, and also specialise in real ales and always has guest ales available to taste.  Other attractions are local workshops which sell award winning jams and chutneys and the artisan food shops where you can find a wide range of produce and an excellent range of . . .

    Absolutely outstanding. Comfy, cosy home from home. Everything had been thought of and couldn't have asked for any more. The views are breathing and a Christmas tree with lights on a timer made coming back in the evenings really special. Cottage was toasty warm and comfortable beds too
