Lord Mayor's Barn is a beautiful property which has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard, no expense has been spared and everything is very good quality. The village of Alston is close and has a range of amenities including small supermarkets and a petrol station. The owners are very friendly and have provided plenty of local information within the barn for guests to refer to.The outdoor sitting area is very secluded and the gardens colourful. The views from the barn in all directions are lovely, it is a rural property but doesn't feel as if it is miles from anywhere. The Lake District and Hadrian's Wall are within easy reach, Hexham and Teesdale also.I consider this property one of the best I have stayed in.

We had a wonderfull time at Lord Mayors Barn. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there. We loved the view from the living room and enjoyed watching the sheep with their lam. The area is stunning with a lot of hiking trails. Vivien and Simon are lovely and great hosts. They really look after their guests. We felt very welcome and looking forward to come back again.
