Ulverston's central street is paved with cobblestones, and the town itself has a historic feel. It has many unique stores, cafes, and pubs serving up real fires and a variety of brews. Stan Laurel was born there, and the town holds the record for the largest foam pie fight in the world, so you can imagine it's a pretty fun place to visit. It is possible to take pleasant strolls in the scenic countryside around Morecambe Bay and the southern Lake District.
