First impressions as you walk through the door we're very good. The lounge was clean and tidy, with excellent rustic decor with flag stone flooring. There are two comfortable sofa's adjacent to a log burner fire place. The kitchen is small has everything you would want for an extended stay. Large oven, microwave, dishwasher, granite worktops and butler sink. Going upstairs, halfway up is a lovely feature (backdoor which opens out on to a small area adjacent to the stream. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, both clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom is small but functional. There are two small points which this lovely property down slightly. Firstly is the shower only having a half glass wall screen, unfortunately the water can go onto the bathroom floor. Secondly, we found mold on the windows of both bedrooms and bathrooms. If these point we're fixed I'd give the property full marks.

.we didnt want to leave & miss the gentle sound of the stream as we drifted off to sleep in the most comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen...everything you need for a week away. High quality furnishings...loved everything about it. 2 minutes walk to the river & lovely walks. We used the cottage as a base & were out & about each day. Even went to a local sheep show which was a lovely Yorkshire Dale's experience. I spoke with the owner before we arrived who picked up straight away & was most helpful & friendly ...I only wanted to ask if there was a hair dryer ( which there is) & we had a chat. Don't let the Negative Nigels & Nellie's but you off ..get it booked your in for a treat. Not too many of you though as we would like to book again for next year .. Thank you for sharing your bolthole with us ... Skye our weimeraner loved it ...she is not allowed upstairs at home so absolutely didnt bother her nor did she attempt too go upstairs.

For me the biggest problems were: no hot water in a morning before 8.30am; terrible bed, so uncomfortable that we had to leave early and check into a hotel; right next to a busy and noisy road and council estate so not a countryside location; the external rubbish bin was full when we arrived and no firewood as promised in the welcoming email; it is tiny, which is OK and actually cosy, but it is jammed in next neighbours so no privacy. Not much in Sedbergh, except the school, so you pretty much have to drive everywhere.
