About this property

Behind a hidden side street, tucked in the small town of Sedbergh, is this quaint three-storey property, Pine Cottage. Perfect for a couple's romantic break to the Yorkshire Dales or a trip with a small group of friends, it offers a delightful base for your adventures in Cumbria. Step inside and be welcomed into a neat open-plan living space, where a woodburning stove adds a classic cottage feel, and a sofa and TV provide a relaxing spot for a quiet evening. A small dining table tucked to the side and some folding chairs act as a cute dining area, with the kitchen home to a gas oven and hob and a fridge, for when you're not dining out in and around the area at the many excellent restaurants. Make your way up the stairs to find the first bedroom; a double room with plenty of storage space and a light and airy interior. On the second floor you can find the lovely bathroom, complete with a bath and shower over, as well as another bedroom, this one home to a single day bed, to be used for an extra guest or as a peaceful reading spot, with an abundance of light from the Velux window. From Pine Cottage you can take a short walk to Sedbergh's high street where traditional pubs await, as well as shops and narrow winding streets. The Dales Way passes near the town and is an 80-mile long-distance footpath taking you along wonderful scenery in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, so walkers should be sure to plan a day exploring the route. The Ribblehead Viaduct isn't far and it's well-worth seeing this 19th century viaduct made of 24 stone arches in person, and it's not far from several excellent peaks to walk, including Ingleborough, Whernside and Great Knoutberry Hill. Killington Lake lies less than ten miles away and is a haven for water sport enthusiasts with opportunities for dinghy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing, as well as fishing available and the site is popular with birdwatchers too. Visit the home of Kendal Mint Cake, the southern gateway to the Lake District, Kendal is a delightful town to explore; wander around the ruins of Kendal Castle, visit the Kendal Museum and the Museum of Lakeland Life & Industry for some local history. Relish a break away with your loved one in Cumbria staying at Pine Cottage.

Falling just within the Yorkshire Dales National Park is the charming village of Sedbergh in Cumbria. Being around 12 miles from the Lake District as well makes this location a great base for any outdoor explorers. The village itself enjoys a rich heritage and even has a school dating back to 1525, as well as traditional pubs, narrow streets and a 12th century church. Set out on the nearby Dales Way and walk some of this 80-mile long-distance footpath to experience stunning scenery and surroundings.

The cottage was fine although upstairs was very cold ,the court yard could do with weeding as it’s very slippery in the wet weather,it was quite a walk to the car park from the cottage, there’s no where to park near the cottage the streets were full ,it lists that there’s a TV which you can only use if you have Amazon or NetFlix no normal channels ,the WiFi signal is very Hit & Miss ,you can unload & load outside the cottage but it’s very tight

Great location with pubs, restaurants and walks all on your doorstep.

It was lovely and cozy with underfloor heating and a log fire, I read some previous reviews mentioning it was cold but any heating issues have definitely been resolved. The property was very clean and nice Xmas decorations had been added for our stay. The cottage has a great location right in the centre of Sedbergh. Would definitely recommend staying here and will look at rebooking when next up visiting family.
