Snaptrip says

Rose Cottage in Cumbria receives high praise for its immaculate cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and well-presented interiors. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches, including provisions for dogs, and find the property to be a cosy, homely base for exploring the surrounding areas. While some mention the lack of a washing machine and minor maintenance issues, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many planning return visits.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently note the spotless condition of the cottage upon arrival, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes significantly to the comfort and enjoyment of their stay.

The cottage's location is appreciated for its tranquillity and proximity to local walks and attractions. However, some guests note the remoteness and the temporary closure of the nearby pub, which slightly impacts the convenience factor.

Reviewers find the cottage comfortable, highlighting the luxurious feel, comfy beds, and welcoming atmosphere for both guests and pets. The presence of a fire and the provision of cosy blankets add to the overall comfort.

The property is well-equipped, but comments about the lack of a washing machine and minor maintenance issues like a non-working radiator and a running toilet suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

Guests mention thoughtful gestures such as a cream tea and free-range eggs, which are highly appreciated. It's important to note that while these gifts enhance the experience, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Parking it on the road but it’s not busy so always a parking space outside the cottage. The front garden is secure for dogs we took our cockapoo Riley he loved it. The only negative if you call it that was the back garden has a thoroughfare through it but honestly it didn’t bother us at all. We was there 3 nights & only saw the lady coming to feed & collect the eggs from the hens that live there 2. Don’t let this put you off !!!! The cottage was one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in and had all the extra facilities to have a very pleasant stay. Hot water was plentiful. The furnishings were lovely especially the bedroom so cosy. The cottage was very warm alongside lighting the log burner on a night time which was so welcoming after a long walk with the dog. There is a lovely pub in the village that does lovely food but unfortunately it was closed the 3 nights we were there but good reviews in book. Thanks again for a lovely stay. The only thing I would say is take some bird seed there are so many different varieties of birds & if you’re like me love watching them there aren’t any feeders to enjoy watching them on. But that’s just me !!!

Ideal base for a stay, the cottage was clean and comfy. The kitchen is well equipped, spacious. It had everything you could need, the rear yard was perfect for dinning outside and is perfect for a dog. It felt like home from home, Parking outside the cottage is great with further parking if needed just a little further into the village. Everyone was so friendly in the village, we will be returning. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
