After a delicious supper, settle down on the sofa where you can reflect on the day's adventures or tune into the TV for entertainment. When you don’t feel like cooking, treat the group to an indulgence at the popular Black Swan Inn, situated just a stone’s throw away! In Cumbria, the tiny village of Langwathby is situated near to the River Eden. Langwathby is a great starting point for a walking vacation because it is surrounded by the North Pennines to the east and the Lake District National Park to the west. The centre of the charming village is dominated by a sizable village green, which is surrounded by cottages, farms, and a classic inn called the Shepherd's Inn. Additionally, there is a store and post office, a village hall, and St. Peter's church, which was erected in 1718 but has some interior features that date back to the Middle Ages. The Carlisle to Settle Railway's Langwathby Station, which now houses the Brief Encounter Café, provides excellent connections to local towns and cities while providing breathtaking views of England's isolated and scenic regions. With the massive 14th century Penrith Castle situated on a green meadow, Penrith Golf Club, a local history museum, and a variety of cafés and stores to visit, Penrith is a bigger town in Cumbria's Eden Valley and is only a short drive away. On the northern shore of Lake Ullswater, Pooley Bridge is a community with charming inns and tearooms, as well as access to many walking trails and the settlements of Glenridding and Howtown. The historic city of Carlisle, which is home to a stunning cathedral, a castle, and the well-liked Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, is located to the north of Langwathby. Amazingly quiet with a feeling of lots of space within the cottage. Everything was really clean and using the log burner 4 or 5 times made us feel very cosy. Very highly recommended indeed. Will definitely return soon.
