Snaptrip says

Linden Lea is a well-received cottage, praised for its cosy atmosphere, family-friendliness, and well-equipped nature. Guests appreciate the enclosed garden, especially those with dogs, and the property's location is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. The cottage's cleanliness and comfort are frequently commended, as are the thoughtful touches from the hosts.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The majority of guests have reported the cottage to be immaculately clean upon arrival, indicating high standards of cleanliness. However, one review mentioned an instance of the property not being cleaned before check-in, which seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is highly praised for its proximity to local attractions, walks, and amenities. It serves as a good base for exploring the Dales and the Lakes, although one review suggested Brough itself is not a holiday destination.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, mentioning the quality of the beds and the cosy living spaces. There are a few mentions of the property being dark in some rooms and issues with low lamp shades for taller individuals.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the kitchen being well-equipped and the garden appreciated. However, there are comments about the need for larger saucepans, a wooden spoon, and some maintenance issues like the log burner not working properly and a Wii console malfunctioning.

Many guests mention thoughtful touches such as a welcome tray with treats and a bottle of wine, which contribute to a pleasant stay. It should be noted that while such gestures are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

The cottage has everything you could possibly need for your stay and is so cosy, location is great too with a shop just across the road and walks from the doorstep. The neighbours on the end are very friendly too. However, as this is the third year going I think we have noticed a few things this time round. There were two glasses which were cracked across the handle and bottom, should really have been picked up by cleaners. The tv has marks within the screen which looks like hand prints but does affect the picture, the Wii doesn’t work after a few minutes of playing. The mold in the bathroom around the sealant and bottom of the shower screen really does need replacing and the shower head itself needs to be replaced as it slides down when in use. The mold around the window in the little bedroom needs to be looked at. Overall just a little tired and could be 10 times better with a freshen up. The biggest issue we had was the log burner, having one ourselves we know how to use it. But this one appears to not have any air flow which I think is caused by needing to be swept through. The smoke would fill the room on opening the door which is not safe at all. As I have mentioned I really don’t want my review to deter anyone from going as we had a great Christmas away and it’s a fab cottage but the owner really needs to be made aware of these issues.

It's a shame that the 'pub within walking distance' as described on Sykes website, has shut down. This was a strong reason for us choosing this property.
