Hethersgill is a small village perfectly located for exploring the Lake District National Park, the Solway Coast, Scottish Borders and the Eden Valley, all within a ½ hour drive.  The border city of Carlisle is only 10 miles away with its many and varied attractions including the castle and cathedral not to mention shopping! For retail therapy however a trip just across the border to Gretna Green is a must.  The attractions are endless in the area, a must is a visit to Birdoswald Ro. . .
