Ballinorig Lodge receives high praise for its welcoming atmosphere, with a roaring fire on arrival and a well-equipped space. The hot tub is a recurring highlight, and the hosts, David and Carol, are lauded for their friendliness and helpfulness. The lodge's cleanliness and thoughtful touches, such as a 'bits and bobs' drawer, contribute to a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Its location offers both seclusion and proximity to local amenities.
Reviewers consistently mention the lodge's immaculate condition, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes to the overall experience.
The lodge is praised for its ideal location, offering privacy and a connection to nature while remaining close to town. The only reason for not scoring a perfect 100 is the lack of explicit mention of location convenience by all reviewers.
Guests describe the lodge as cosy and well-equipped, with special mentions of the log fire and warm decor, suggesting a very comfortable stay.
Facilities like the hot tub, BBQ hut, and fire hut are highly appreciated. A slight deduction is made due to a single mention of a missing drying rack for washing up.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of a 'bits and bobs' drawer and other amenities. While gifts like hot chocolates are mentioned, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, are not guaranteed.

No matter the season, a stay at Ballinorig Lodge is perfect for those seeking relaxation.
Enjoying a peaceful position within the English county of Cumbria is Cleator Moor, a small town resting just a few miles away from Whitehaven and the coastline. The town plays host to a number of amenities, including a handful of pubs, shops and other small businesses, as well as a Mart Square, where there are three sculptures by Conrad Atkinson, a local artist of international repute. Here, you will also find part of the West Cumbria Cycle Network, which form a portion of the C2C Cycle Route, from Whitehaven to Sunderland. Those with two-wheels can look forward to meandering along the route of the old Whitehaven, Cleator and Egremont and Rowrah and Kelton Fell Railways, which were once very active in the 1850s. The port town of Whitehaven is nearby and rests on the west coast of Cumbria, where you will find a larger selection of amenities, as well as a golf course, The Beacon Museum and the attraction of The Rum Story & Jefferson' Shop. During the summer months, be sure to spend time on the local beaches of Providence Bay Beach, Tanyard Bay Beach and Fleswick Bay or head to the Lake District National Park to uncover some great walking opportunities and other outdoor adventure. Cleator Moor is a delightful town for exploring further afield.

David, the owner, met us upon arrival, and had lit the log burner for us. He was very friendly and helpful, and gave us information about days out and the surrounding area. The hot tub was fab, and undercover, which enabled us to enjoy it, despite the awful weather! We woukd love to return! Highly recommend!
