Swallow Barn is a beautifully presented, two bedroom end of terrace barn conversion quietly set in a small, picturesque village in the Caldbeck Fells in Cumbria, one of the most beautiful regions in the country. It is the most delightful property in which to spend time away from home with its cosy wood burner in the living room, the comfortable beds and modern bathrooms, not to mention the delightful garden to the rear, it really adds that little extra something to a holiday in the Lake District.
The peaceful village of Torpenhow is the ideal spot for exploring the area. The even quieter Northern Fells are on your doorstep with many walks, yet easily accessible for day trips are the popular tourist towns of Keswick, Cockermouth and the historic city of Carlisle. The famous Hadrian’s Wall is only a short drive as well as Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Borders and the Yorkshire Dales. Pub and restaurant 1 mile.

A lovely cottage+very clean+quiet+every thing you need is there+more but on the itinerary it said a welcome pack+there wasn't could have been an oversight we'll definitely go again M+B Barker

Swallow Barn is very comfortable and well equipped. It is well situated for visiting the northern lakes or the coast. Carlisle is about 30 minutes drive away. Having an ensuite and a family bathroom was ideal for our needs. We would stay again and recommend the barn to family and friends.
