A lovely, semi-detached, ground floor cottage, one of a group of two cottages in the grounds of High Head Castle Farm, on the owner's dairy farm, 10 miles from Penrith in the Ive Valley. This Lake District cottage has been lovingly converted and individually styled to provide quality, romantic accommodation in a lovely location, amongst the beautiful, rolling Cumbrian countryside. Boasting lovely features throughout, this Lake District cottage offers a woodburning stove, spacious bedroom with king-size bed, and beautiful gardens from which to enjoy the views across the valley. Enjoy lovely farm walks or visit the market towns of Brampton and Penrith, within easy reach. Further afield are the North Pennines and majestic Hadrian's Wall. High Head Castle Farm is located on a dairy farm in rolling countryside overlooking High Head Castle. Within easy driving distance is the market town of Penrith, which offers a wide choice of excellent pubs, hotels, restaurants and entertainment. The historic city of Carlisle is within easy travelling distance, as is the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales.

The nuthatch cottage was the perfect place for us and our dogs during the bonfire period, hardly a sound in sight and the cottage itself was extremely comfortable and comforting to our needs our puppies loved the place that much they didn't want to leave thank you for our wonderful stay â¤ï¸

Peaceful and tranquil. The rooms were warm and cozy, and we especially loved the underfloor heating. The kitchen was well equipped. The pots and pans we used were all nice and clean. Great to see that there was also cooking oil, salt and pepper, and a compact dish drainer. Great bath with an easy to use shower. Lovely, big chest of drawers for clothes etc in the bedroom & also extra pillows and blankets. The Nuthatch, while being situated on a beautiful farm, also proved to be a great base for exploring. Aira Force, Gowbarrow Fell, Penrith, Lowther Castle- we managed to pack quite a few places in such a short time. Overall, we had a wonderful experience

The cottage is very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. Its cosy whilst still being spacious. Plenty of places within an easy drive for walks and meals out and all the facilities you want meals in too. Lovely big bath (for soaking after the long walks). The only slight negative we can think of is the mattress is extremely firm, maybe a topper would help. That said we slept well and would recommend and love go back.
