Set on the edge of a village ,this cottage is set ideally for exploring the Solway coast , Cockermouth , Keswick and the northern fells and lakes, enjoy the stunning scenery without experiencing the same hustle and bustle of the central Lakes. Finished to a very good standard, the cottages have everything you need for family getaways including a hot tub (for private hire), also with in walking distance there is a heated swimming pool available too hire privately on line . The Solway Coast which is only 4 miles away has a lovely beach with long walks with paths along the coast great for dog walkers then relax and grab an ice cream or head too the local pub for a meal in allonby or visit silloth and Mayport two off the harbour towns on the solway coast with coffee shops, cafés, pubs takeaways and supermarkets or venture into the north lakes keswick only 14 miles away which has lots outdoor stuff to do with two lakes bassethwaite and derwent water in the area great for water activities paddle boarding ,swimming ,canoeing this property is next door too other cottages great for big family/friends get togethers. Just came back from a week breaks with the family. We had a fabulous time. The owner of the property made us feel welcome and recommended lots of places to go. The cottage was lovely, the hot tub was amazing and the swimming pool was great size for us.

This is an amazing place to stay whether you want to relax as a couple or take the children. You can see the cows and pigs as well as the two ducks from the house, or even go close up to them. My boys loved watching the cows giving birth in the field as it was a fantastic experience for them. And the pool was warm and was given 2 hours a day to swim as well as watching the birds feed at the same time through the windows.Carole was really accommodating and anything we needed she was available on the end of the phone.Definitely be going back 5 star x

The pool was brilliant for the kids, allocated 2x 1 hr slots per day. There were 2 pigs, 2ducks and cows in the next field, again great for the small kids to visit. Very quiet and peaceful location but not too far from amenities.
