About this property

A lovely, stone-built, mid-terrace cottage on a working livestock farm in the rural hamlet of Milton, two miles from Brampton. The result of careful, thoughtful conversion of old farm buildings, this Milton cottage retains much charm, with original beams and exposed stonework. This welcoming Milton cottage features a cosy sitting room with attached summer room, a lovely spot to sit and admire the pretty views, a small modern kitchen, and a delightful main bedroom. An ideal romantic retreat, this Milton cottage is further enhanced by the decked balcony, where guests can enjoy views of the countryside, or watch the world go by. A great base to relax, unwind and enjoy this historic area, the market town of Brampton, the North Pennines and majestic Hadrian's Wall. Note: This cottage is next to Refs. 3738, 4585, 917515, 922499, 931769 and 941220, 949797 together they sleep 30.

Ideally placed for exploring northern Cumbria, the little hamlet of Milton is set close to numerous attractions including Hadrians Wall, the Solway Firth and the Lake District National Park. With a rich and colourful history, the market town of Brampton dates back to the Roman occupation, and boasts evidence of Scottish border raids and the Jacobite uprising. Apparently, even Bonnie Prince Charlie was a fan of the town, establishing his headquarters in what is now a shop. Just a few miles away is the Talkin Tarn Country Park. Covering 180 acres, the Tarn - a 10,000 year old glacial lake - accounts for 65 acres and is fed by underwater springs. Slightly further south, visitors can take a trip to Gelt Woods - an ancient woodland set along the banks of the River Gelt.

Thanks for s lovely stay A few things to point out to help improve the property Some coat hooks by the front door for wet coat, Some more cultrey as we only had 3 forks & 3 spoons, The hot tub needs looking at as we had a very loud piecing screeching noise when in use, The bushes on entrance to the hot tub needs trimming back, Also on entrance to the hot tub is a small step, which you don't see in the dark ( it would help to more visible in the dark ) The outside light wasn't working

The kitchen is tiny, but very usable. The bathroom was spacious and water pressure was good. The living room was comfortable, although I did get covered in, what appeared to be, dog hairs, after sitting down. I suppose this is inevitable if guests with pets don't have the good sense to keep them off of the furniture. We loved sitting in the conservatory to eat our meals, but the addition of a light in that area would have been nice. The outside light didn't work, so we had to use torches for coming and going in the dark. However, none of these points would stop us from booking the same accommodation again, as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
