Guests have praised 36 Raven's Rest for its immaculate condition, modern amenities, and the thoughtful touches provided by the owners. The property's peaceful location and the hot tub are frequently highlighted as highlights of the stay. While most experiences have been positive, a few guests have reported issues with cleanliness and maintenance, particularly concerning the hot tub and kitchen appliances.
The majority of guests found the property to be very clean and well-maintained, with several positive comments on its immaculate condition. However, there was a concerning report of a dirty hot tub and used plasters, which has slightly affected the score.
The location is generally appreciated for being quiet and well-maintained, offering a sense of country living while still being accessible to towns. However, one review mentioned traffic noise and headlights from a nearby road, which suggests the tranquillity may not be consistent.
Guests have expressed satisfaction with the comfort of the lodge, mentioning its spaciousness and the relaxing hot tub. The property seems to provide a comfortable stay, with only minor issues affecting this perception.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the inclusion of a washer/dryer and the well-equipped nature of the lodge. However, there are significant concerns about the safety and functionality of the gas oven and hob, which necessitates a lower score.
The owners' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests appreciating the extra touches such as board games, a selection of jams, and starter packs. It should be noted that while these gifts are warmly received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Armathwaite is a charming, unspoiled rural community that is conveniently located between the Lake District, Eden Valley, and the stunning Solway Firth shoreline. There is a post office and a quaint little store, as well as two historic pubs with outstanding eateries. The River Eden flows right through the middle of town, and the area is well-known for its fantastic salmon fishing, in addition to its many other outdoor pursuits. Down by the water, in Armathwaite, is a 15th-century church with beautiful stained glass windows and a Pele tower with four stories. If you find yourself in Cumbria, you should definitely check out the Eden Gorge, which is located between Lazonby and Armathwaite. The Settle-to-Carlisle Railway, which stops at the nearby train station, is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque routes in all of Britain. Lots of extras. However the gas ran out on day 2, rang the number, not opened so rang emergency number 3 times, no answer. Managed to get it sorted with the on site manager, who contacted the owner. This should have been checked before our stay. Cannot see the numbers on gas cooker. Other than this we all enjoyed our stay. One of the best we have stayed in. Will definitely be returning.
