The butcher’s shop used has unfortunately closed but is now a coffee and tea shop next to the well-stocked general store opposite, we are very lucky to have three very good welcoming pubs all serving good food, another café and a fish and chip shop, all in in walking distance.

The nearby larger village of Tarporley is just a 10-minute drive and is home to a number of pubs and eateries together with a good variety of shops. The popular market town of Nantwich is around 15 minutes and the wonderful historic city of Chester around half an hour.

There is a whole host of superb local attractions such as the Sandstone Trail which you can pick up in Tarporley and was voted one of Julia Bradbury’s and Ore Oduba’s ‘Top 100 Walks’. The castles of Beeston (English Heritage) and Cholmondeley are both within a 10-minute drive, and Delamere Forest can be reached in around 20 minutes, offering outdoor concerts and more great walking and cycle trails.

Chester Zoo, the Blue Planet Aquarium and Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet can all be reached in 40 minutes or so and the cities of Liverpool and Manchester area both accessible within an hour or so. The North Wales coastline is about an hour away, making this a superb base to either simply relax and unwind or explore the many wonders of the surrounding area. Comfortable, clean well equipped cottage with parking space and secure small garden. Perfect location to explore the area. Owners next door should there be any issues (which there weren't!). Would recommend.

This house is ideally located in the centre of the village, adjacent to the local COOP, which sells everything, two small coffee shops that can provide a variety of cakes and the local pub that does a good standard, at a reasonable cost, bar food. The house itself is clean and tidy with a very well equipped kitchen. The beds are firm but extremely comfortable and the bedroom is spacious with plenty of wardrobe space. The owners who live next door are extremely friendly and kindly allowing us to charge our car overnight from their electric car charging point. The garden is well kept with both apple and pear trees and is a real sun trap for the PM sun. Small items; the quality of the towels is excellent, good quantity of books and games, dishwasher, plenty of hot water.

Lovely house. Lovely location. All amenities on hand. Every thing that you could want was available. Three pubs, two coffee shops and a Coop all within walking distance and plenty of places to visit within an hour’s drive. Highly recommended.
