Spruce Shepherd’s Hut can be found nestled within the enchanting surroundings of a Christmas tree farm in the Cheshire market town of Wilmslow. Traditional craftsmanship has been beautifully blended with modern amenities resulting in rustic charm meets relaxation. Lovingly crafted and furnished with meticulous attention to detail, it offers a cosy and intimate glamping experience with the comfort and convenience of en-suite and self catering facilities. Outside you can savour the simple pleasures of life as you indulge in the wood-fired hot tub, nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of the Christmas tree farm. Immerse yourself in the soothing waters to the scent of pine whilst melting away your cares and worries, surrounded by the tranquillity of nature.
The shepherd’s hut is accessed via a rough track and is set on a working farm shared by wildlife including badgers, foxes, hedgehogs and bats, as well as many different sorts of birds so there’s always something going on. There is an on-site tea room open from March to October (Thursday–Sunday) and specialises in Cheshire-based produce, but also has a Caribbean influence. It’s fully licensed so expect bacon rolls and home made cake together with the odd cocktail!
If you can bear to venture out, Wilmslow centre is around a 15-minute walk and is a shoppers’ paradise with designer boutiques and upmarket interior designers, as well as chic charity shops and a department store. Foodies won’t be disappointed with lots of places to eat and drink and there’s even an independent boutique cinema and small theatre. You can take a stroll through the picturesque Carrs Park in the heart of the town centre, or by the River Bollin towards Styal Village and National Trust Quarry Bank Mill.
Lindow Common, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Lindow Moss, are both adjacent to the farm for walks amongst the peatland and the cities of Manchester, Chester and Liverpool together with the Peak District National Park are all easily accessible. Whether you’re seeking a romantic getaway or a peaceful solo retreat, Spruce Shepherd’s Hut is the perfect haven for a magical experience away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Had a wonderful stay at the Shepherds Hut. The location was peaceful and relaxing, but also made me feel as though I was away from the disturbances of modern life. The hut was immaculate, well-kept, and very cosy. I especially loved having a morning tea and looking out the window at all the lovely trees growing on the farm. The hot tub is a must try, immensely relaxing and lovely to dip into at the end of the day. Particularly getting to see all of the wildlife pas on by as you soak in the warm water. Hosts were wonderful and check-in and out an absolute breeze, I was left to enjoy my time, but I knew should I have needed anything they would be on hand. The little treats were so very appreciated and added to the experience! Jake the cat was a lovely little visitor and kept me company whilst I enjoyed the view on the decking. If you're looking for a calm, tranquil and cosy stay the Shepherd's Hut is the place to stay. I will return again!

Fabulous place to stay and relax with a hot tub. The smell of pine from the Xmas trees is lovely. I stayed by myself and felt totally safe. The owners have thought of everything you need for your stay and little things like chocolates make it special. A great little bolt hole but with shops/food places close enough if you need them. Resident farm cat Jake is fab. I stayed for 3 nights but could have easily stayed longer. Will definitely be returning.
