Local artwork adorns the walls, adding a touch of the area’s culture and heritage. The Barn features three well-appointed bedrooms. The first double bedroom, just a step down from the lounge, is a bright and welcoming space with windows on every side offering views of the private enclosed garden. Glass doors lead directly from the bedroom onto a patio with outdoor seating, perfect for soaking up the sunshine. The hallway leads to two additional bedrooms: a large king bedroom with a step-up to an en suite walk-in shower, and a twin bedroom. The property is complete with a spacious family bathroom.
Ideally located for exploring the region, The Barn is just 4 miles north of Durham City, with its renowned Cathedral and castle, and 6 miles from the fascinating Beamish Open Air Museum. To the east, you’ll find miles of beautiful beaches. Stoneygate Farm offers horse riding facilities and private woodland trails, and by prior arrangement, you can bring your horse to stay in the stables for an additional cost. With seven golf courses within a 30-minute drive and a wealth of nearby attractions, there’s something here for everyone.

A fantastic property ideally sited for amenities close to the sea glass beach. The host Wendy could not do enough to make our stay memorable. With the view of the horses opposite the bedroom windows and two adorable dogs that loved a fuss. Must not forget Sylvester the farm cat so affectionate he just loved a cuddle. Definitely a place I would be happy to return to. It was hard having to leave we enjoyed our time there so much

Staying with Wendy was a pleasure and she was so so so helpful when we needed a hand The place was lovely and relaxing, beautiful views and had a good nights sleep. Feels very safe and secure. I will say the back bedroom near the garden gets very warm at night if its been hot in the day! Thank you so much

Owner very thoughtful and kind will do anything to help you. Plenty of room. Washer and dryer was great to have. Nice large table in kitchen where we spent most nights playing games!We were two families , the bedrooms are either ends of the barn. The bathrooms are at the end with two bedrooms so if you were in the other bedroom you had to walk to the other end. Wasn’t a problem though. Easy parking right outside for at least 3 cars. We hope to go back. Sandra
