About this property

Staithes 2 miles. Nestled amongst a cluster of properties, on the outskirts of the quaint village of Easington, rests this charming stone-built barn conversion, aptly named, The Barn. Beautifully-converted with comfort and style in mind, whilst maintaining the abode's original charm and character, The Barn makes an excellent base for a retreat to North Yorkshire. Three off-road parking spaces greet you at the foot of this lovely dwelling, making unloading your belongings and settling into your new home-from-home an easy task. Stepping inside, be charmed by the characterful interior of the open-plan living space, thoughtfully laid out with beamed ceilings, travertine stone flooring, exposed stone walls and a rustic electric fire, where you can look forward to curling up with a steaming cup of tea and a good book at the end of another day of adventure. The kitchen is equipped with all of the essentials to help prepare hearty meals, and the dining table with seating for eight provides a lovely spot to gather together with your loved ones of an evening to indulge. In the warmer months, carry the conversation outdoors and soak in the last of the evening sunshine in the peaceful setting of your private patio; why not fire up the barbeque and make mealtimes an alfresco affair? When day draws to night, retreat indoors to catch your rest in one of four well-presented bedrooms, with a double settled on the ground floor, ideal for those with limited mobility, whilst a further double and two twins can be found on the first floor; an adjoining door leading from the double to the twin bedroom is ideal for small families. With excellent access to the stunning countryside and the dramatic coast, The Barn offers something for all. Note: This property can be booked with Refs. 1090742 and 1090741, together sleeping up to 18 guests.

The sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs, with a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the coastline. Staithes has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms and is altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the North York Moors National Park.

Well kitted out kitchen, lounge area great for a large group. A real plus having en suites in each bedroom. All beds very comfy.Good position for using as a base. Great having the bus route right outside the door. Even though the barn is on a main road, we weren't trouble with the traffic noise. Host seemed very nice, but had no reason to call on him as everything was absolutely fine. Would have no hesitation on booking he barn again, and recommending to family and friends.

We met the owner who was very friendly and helpful. The only thing i would suggest is to have chairs instead of benches at the kitchen table which we found a bit uncomfortable but its a small point and as a group we would recommend a stay here it is a great place for a holiday.
