About this property

This immaculately-presented, semi-detached property is situated in a quiet residential area, on the southern edge of the coastal town of Redcar near Saltburn-by-the-Sea. Just a short stroll from a beautiful, long sandy beach, this lovely house is a perfect base for an enjoyable family holiday, with easy access to the ever popular Yorkshire coast, seaside towns and the North York Moors National Park. With bright and spacious rooms, it has been thoughtfully furnished, exuding quality throughout, from the granite worktops to the luxurious comfortable bedding. The open plan living area offers a light and airy space, with leather sofas, a cosy gas woodburner-effect fire and dining table set in the bay window, with French doors opening to the outside. With a second separate sitting room with an additional TV, there is ample space to spread out. Upstairs, the three charming bedrooms offer plenty of storage and share a contemporary bathroom, while the rear king-size bedroom has views of the sea. There's no shortage of things to do in this delightful holiday home, with a snooker table in the garden room and a table tennis table outside for all ages to enjoy, or you may wish to quietly relax with a glass of wine in the enclosed lawned garden. A hop and a skip through Lily Park takes you to a wonderful stretch of coast, where you can walk along the beach to Marske. Drive to the pretty village of Great Ayton with the dominant Roseberry Topping a must for walkers, or visit the historic fishing port of Whitby with its ancient abbey and Captain Cook's museum, winner of the Visit England gold award in 2013. Racegoers will enjoy a day at Redcar races and there are several golf courses all within easy reach. A splendid property providing an excellent touring base for families and friends to enjoy the Yorkshire coast all year round.

The seaside town of Redcar lies on the east coast, just north of Saltburn. It has long, golden sandy beaches stretching for miles towards Saltburn Bay. The promenade is perfect to sit and watch the local fisherman land the day's catch, and you may wish to enjoy Redcar's famous lemon top ice cream, tried by Prince Charles on one of his frequent visits. The 80ft accessible vertical pier 'Redcar's Beacon' offers spectacular views, and visit the lifeboat museum, home to the 'Zetland' built in 1802, which is known to be the world's oldest lifeboat. To the south-east, The Stray, a 2 mile stretch of grassland between the golden beach and coast road links Redcar and Marske, why not take a leisurely walk and admire the breathtaking vista of coastline and cliffs? The popular Victorian resort of Saltburn, only a few minutes’ drive has an abundance of lovely tea rooms, good restaurants and interesting shops. Take the cliff lift believed to be the oldest working funicular railway in the UK, making its first 120ft decent on June 28th 1884. To the lower promenade and the 600ft long pier is the sole surviving example on the north east coast, then a stroll through the ornamental valley gardens up to the town. The North York Moors lie to the south, with ample walking opportunities and attractions such as the Danby Moors Exhibition Centre and continue to the vibrant market town of Helmsley with ruins of a Norman castle. Redcar provides an ideal base for visiting many attractions.

Excellent WiFi in the front of the house but could be a bit hit and miss in the rear of the property. Redcar and Marske are an easy walk away and we took the bus to Whitby one day to make use of the cheap £2 bus fares. We will definitely book again in the near future.

Spacious rooms, comfortable bed and very well equipped. It was a short walk to the sea front and there is a park next door but one. Worth visiting the town for both lemon tops and orange tops. The bus stops nearby enabled us to leave the car and visit Whitby amongst other places. Would definitely revisit the property again.
