Enjoying a superb location in a private courtyard just a stone’s throw from the harbour and beach in Seahouses in Northumberland, Rowing Boat Cottage is a charming cottage which is perfect for a large family holiday or a get-together of family and friends. The sitting room welcomes guests in straight away with ample seating just asking for you to sit down, chill out and spend awhile catching up with friends and family. The gorgeous kitchen is spacious and fully fitted with everything needed to produce hearty food for the whole holiday party and when it’s time to serve up, there is a rustic dining table all set up ready for guests to pull up a chair and indulge in long, lazy meals together. If the sun is shining then the outside courtyard is the ideal spot for soaking up some rays with a bench and a patio table and chairs at the ready, should the opportunity arise to do some eating and drinking alfresco. When it’s time for bed, there are four attractive bedrooms to choose from, two doubles, a twin and a bunk bedroom. All are stylish and welcoming and even come complete with TVs so you don’t need to miss out on your favourite TV programmes! There are three contemporary bathrooms so no need to worry about queues for the bathroom either. In the morning, after a hearty breakfast and a catch up to plan the day’s activities, you’re good to go and ready to explore the delights of Northumberland. The delightful village of Seahouses is right on the doorstep with a good selection of shops and eateries with boat trips to the Farne Islands available where you can see unusual birds and even seals. The village of Bamburgh is well worth a visit too, famous for its imposing castle but which also has a good selection of shops and amenities. Close by there are miles of sandy beaches to explore and further afield there are magnificent castles to discover such as Dunstanburgh, Warkworth, Lindisfarne and Cragside, Towns worth a visit include the historic market town of Alnwick; Alnmouth known for its excellent golf course; and the farming hamlet of Howick which is known for being the birthplace of Earl Grey tea. Rowing Boat Cottage offers well-presented accommodation in a beautiful coastal setting and a holiday here promises to be truly memorable.

A bustling, pretty fishing village with an attractive harbour, situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Golf, fishing and riding are also available locally.

    Cottage was equipped with everything you needed and more. Very comfortable and quiet. Communication from the owners was brilliant. We would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and would stay there again. Stayed in a few nice cottages in Seahouses, but this was the best.
