About this property

A pretty stone-built terraced cottage settled into the coastal town of Seahouses, within easy reach of the town centre, Beach Retreat is the ideal Northumberland getaway for a family. Be welcomed by this lovely stone terraced property and get cosy in a characterful sitting room, with wooden roofbeams treaded throughout the ceiling and a bare brick fireplace housing a woodburning stove, great for warming your feet after a long day at the beach as you relax in one of the leather sofas. When mealtimes call, a tasteful kitchen/diner sports an amply fitted kitchen with wooden flooring and contemporary furniture, stocked with all of the amenities needed to make a heart-warming meal, and there is a woodburning stove and tiled floor throughout the dining area, as well as a quirky wooden bench, adding a real countryside cottage feel. Four bedrooms rest throughout this property, as well as a family bathroom, including a spacious king-size with an en-suite, a double bedroom with an en-suite, a single and a bunk, as well as a playroom for children to enjoy, where there is an additional sofa bed (bedding not included). Outside, enjoy dining alfresco in a patio space bordered by pretty shrubs providing a pop of colour. Seahouses is a fantastic coastal location where you can enjoy a hot meal at one of the local eateries, or coffee in a quaint tea shop before checking out the local independent shops and scenic harbour. Seahouses has a local golf club and a fantastic sandy beach, however you can explore the local scenery further with Serenity Farne Island Boat Tours. Travel a short distance from the property you will find Bamburgh with its impressive castle and scenic coastline, and beyond that the historic Holy Island boasting many shops, eateries and fascinating historical sites, including Lindisfarne Priory and Lindisfarne Castle. Make a seaside getaway to remember with a stay at Beach Retreat.

A bustling, pretty fishing village with an attractive harbour, situated on the beautiful Northumbrian coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Seahouses offers a variety of shops and a good selection of inns, pubs and eating places. Nearby are miles and miles of splendid sandy beaches and the opportunity to visit the bird sanctuary or seal colony on the famous Farne Islands with boat trips running daily from Seahouses, is not to be missed. There are numerous castles and great houses to explore, such as the magnificent castles at Bamburgh, Cragside, and Alnwick (home of the Duke of Northumberland), to mention just a few. Parking at rear is tight but has access into rear garden. Well stocked kitchen utensils for all you could need. Games, DVDs & books should you need them. Only negatives: Room with Bunk beds only suitable for children as small I think check in time could be sooner than 4pm considering you have to check out at 10am. However would recommend and would stay again.

A short walk to bus stop and High Street. Excellent location to visit Alnwick, Amble , Warkworth and other coastal areas. Many places of historical interest. Unfortunately a few negatives: Arrived at 4pmish to a very cold cottage, no starter packs for the two fires, enough washing up liquid for 2 washes only, freezer requires defrosting, cutlery tray needed cleaning, outside refuse bin was overflowing with black bags. Thankfully we found 2 oil filled radiators until the heating fired up. It's a shame about the negatives as the cottage was lovely and well positioned

It’s a beautiful & well equipped property . Great location and parking wasn’t a problem for us as my husband is v good at navigating small ish spaces . The neighbour was reasonable too as we were reasonable & polite with us . The property is v good value for what is provided . Perfect for two families to share a lovely spacious cottage together . Would love to return .
